PP099 Christmas at Grandma Athaliah’s

While good grandmas might go on shopping sprees at Christmas, Grandma Athaliah preferred killing sprees. And in one of her evil rampages, she almost succeeded in wrecking Christmas forever. Thank God for Aunt Jehosheba, though! Dale Ralph Davis has memorably called her “the Lady who saved Christmas.” This Christmas we need to keep our spiritual armour on, be ready to serve as God’s special agent, and kindle a nice cozy fire of hope within our hearts because we happen to know the best Christmas secret of all!

What does it really mean, though when the song speaks of Jesus Christ as “incarnate deity?” Tune in to hear Matthew & Mike clarify the theology of the incarnation, as well as speak of its main purpose and how it matters to us today.

PP047 A Sword for Christmas

At the first Christmas, Mary was given a painful sword, but it was a sword sheathed with comfort. Are you going through pain this Christmas? Then join Mary in embracing the five comforts God gave her in her trial: the comfort of knowing (1) that suffering is normal for Christians, (2) God is in control, (3) that he is preparing you for the future, (4) and that you are not alone. The greatest comfort of all—a comfort that nothing can take away from you—is (5) the comfort of having Christ as your Saviour. To receive Him is to receive pure joy this Christmas.

PP046 A Genealogy of Grace

The real Christmas story – that of Christ coming into the world – is an account of God’s amazing grace. And the wonders and beauties of God’s grace are seen on the opening page of the New Testament, before the Lord Jesus is even born. The family tree of Jesus Christ is not a boring list of hard to pronounce names – it is a genealogy of grace.
