Sometimes in the weakness of our minds, we find ourselves weighed down again by guilt for sins from our past. Today’s gospel teaching on the podcast speaks to that exact issue. Mike and Matthew provide some practical counsel on how we can get past that tendency (think PLM!), but first they spend some extensive time looking into the Day of Atonement. The second goat on the Day of Atonement visibly took the people’s sins away – and the goat wasn’t brought back! Atonement is an important subject and helps us to understand what Christ has done for us on the cross, so it is worthwhile taking some time to dig into a truth that is vital to Leviticus and fundamental to our faith.
